Latoya Francis-Williams, Esq. is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. Upon admission to the Maryland State Bar she has maintained a high level of work ethic and practice on behalf of victims of police brutality.
She also serves as of counsel for the world renown Law Office of A. Dwight Pettit, P.A., as head of litigation. Using the freedom of being an independent thinker and her passion for achieving justice through the practice of law, Ms. Francis-Williams has lead a number of noteworthy legal battles on behalf of victims of Police Misconduct; including: securing a six-figure award by a Baltimore City jury to a man who was assaulted by Baltimore City Police officers in the presence of his toddler son; securing a six figure settlement reached for a 35-year-old man shot by Baltimore City Police officers; securing a seven figure settlement reached for the family of man who was beat to death by a Morgan State University Campus Police Officer and multiple Baltimore City Police Officers; securing a seven figure award by a Baltimore City jury to the family of a victim of domestic violence,
where Baltimore City Police failed to protect the woman after responding to her home on a call for help; securing a federal jury six-figure award to a young man who was slapped as a teen by a Baltimore City Police officer while the teen was hand-cuffed; securing a seven-figure settlement for the wrongful death beneficiaries of a 21-year-old black male victim of excessive force by Baltimore County police officers.
As a result of her efforts Ms. Francis-Williams’ most recent awards include the prestigious National Black Lawyers, Top 40 under 40 Award for her multiple years of hard work in Civil Rights and Criminal Defense. Ms. Francis-Williams is selected as a Super Lawyer, Rising Star, for the year 2020, an honor reserved for only 2.5% of the Attorneys in the State of Maryland. In addition, Ms. Francis-Williams is recognized as one of the top 40 under 40 attorneys in Criminal Law, State of Maryland by the American Academy of Attorneys.
